92 Panchkula families come under scanner as migrant verification drive intensifies

The police have verified 5,543 individuals and flagged 92 families with suspicious documentation as part of a citywide verification drive to identify illegal Rohingya and Bangladesh nationals having migrated to the city.

The campaign, led under the direct supervision of Commissioner of Police Rakesh Kumar Arya, spans three zones and involves checks on Aadhaar cards, voter IDs, ration cards, and vehicle documents.

Some individuals were found with inconsistent identity details, unregistered vehicles, or no identification at all, raising serious concerns.

Many of them, mostly employed as daily wagers, were reluctant to share information.

The Commissioner is personally monitoring the progress and has urged citizens to report suspicious activity. Police are now conducting re-verification of flagged families while coordinating with other departments for confirmation.

The drive will continue until all sectors of the city are covered, aiming to bolster public safety and legal compliance.
