PBKS Beat RCB In A Rain-Affected Thriller

RCB Vs PBKS: Punjab Kings beat Royal Challengers Bengaluru by 5 wickets at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Friday, April 18, as Shreyas Iyer's men join Delhi Capitals as the 2nd team this season to touch the double-digit mark for points in the points table.

IPL completes it's 17 years today, and RCB hosted the very-first match of IPL at the same venue.

Well, history repeats itself as RCB once again ends up on the losing side, and with the result, they are now 0-3 at home (0 wins, 3 losses).

RCB Vs PBKS, IPL 2025 Match 34: Highlights

Punjab Kings had won the toss and chose to bowl first against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The decision proved to be a masterclass from Shreyas Iyer, as no RCB batter managed to show endurance on what was a tough surface.

Phil Salt departed in the first over itself, and Virat Kohli joined his teammate after a couple of overs, as the Indian legend scored only 1 run.

The onus was on the likes of Rajat Patidar, Liam Livingstone, and Jitesh Sharma to tackle the PBKS bowling and guide RCB to a safe total. However, the trio failed to do so, and the home side were languishing at 42/7, as they feared yet another embarassment coming towards their way (RCB holds the record for lowest-ever IPL total, which was 49, against KKR in 2017).

Tim David came to the rescue for the side, by smashing a quickfire 50 off 26 balls, as RCB reached the total of 95/9 at the end of their 14 overs.

In reply, PBKS were off to a shaky start, as Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar ran through their top-order.

Things looked pretty tight for the visitors, as Suyash Sharma bowled 4 consecutive dot balls to make the equation 43 off 32, but what followed later was pure mayhem from Nehal Wadhera, as his sensational hitting closed all doors of an RCB comeback.
