Madras High Court says the ‘no work, no pay’ principle is unsustainable when employee is not at fault
The petitioner said his date of birth, March 23, 1961, was wrongly entered in the service register as January 28, 1958. In 2018, his appointment as Village Administrative Officer was cancelled and he was permitted to retire. But, with the help of a court order, he rejoined duty and retired on March 31, 2019. The authorities denied him the benefits for the period from February 1, 2018 to March 18, 2019
