Thane Crime: 29-Year-Old Man Arrested From Madhya Pradesh For Murdering Roommate In Bhiwandi Over Parental Abuse
Thane: A 29-year-old man was arrested from Madhya Pradesh for allegedly murdering his roommate by attacking him with stones and sharp weapons after the deceased frequently abused accused's parents with filthy language in Bhiwandi.
The accused has been identified as Ravi Kumar Vishnu Singh, 29, a resident of Chhattisgarh. The deceased has been identified as Chitranjan Nageshiya, 30, who also hails from Chhattisgarh.
The police said a murder was reported in Dattunagar in Bhadwad village in Bhiwandi on April 14. An FIR was filed under the charge of murder against an unknown person at Shantinagar Police Station. Following the incident, a parallel investigation was carried out by the Shantinagar Police and Crime Branch Unit One.
The police said that they were alerted by locals about a dead body lying in a pool of blood in an isolated place. They rushed to the spot and took him to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital in Bhiwandi, where the post-mortem was performed. The identity of the deceased was unknown, but medicine was found in the pocket of the deceased.
Thereafter, they started to investigate and scanned the medical store where he had bought the medicine. Subsequently, a medical shop was found, and they reviewed the CCTV footage and discovered a third man who was associated with the deceased while taking the medicine.
Police said that in order to find out the deceased's identity, they circulated the photo of the associate across the police station and later traced him in Dombivli, who provided the names and numbers of the deceased and the accused.
Thereafter, the police took the number of the accused and placed it under surveillance. Based on technical intelligence and tower location, the police located him in Katni district of Madhya Pradesh. One team from the Crime Branch was dispatched and apprehended him on April 16.
Vinayak Gaikwad, Senior Police Inspector from Shantinagar Police Station, said, "The accused and the deceased worked as security guards in Dombivli. On April 11, they came to Bhiwandi and lived in a rented room here. On April 14, both went to an isolated place in Bhadwad to consumed alcohol or drink. The deceased started to abuse the accused's parents under the influence of alcohol. A confrontation ensued between them. In a fit of rage, the accused attacked him with a beer bottle and later took a stone and threw it at his chest before fleeing the scene."
