Bengal BJP Ex-President Dilip Ghosh Ties The Knot At 60 With Party Colleague Rinku Majumdar — WATCH

Former West Bengal BJP president Dilip Ghosh tied the knot in the New Town city of West Bengal on Friday evening. The 60-year-old married party colleague Rinku Majumdar, with whom he has been familiar since 2021. The couple married at an intimate ceremony where their close relatives were in attendance. 

Their relationship grew over time as they used to meet during their morning walks. Ghosh has been a part of the RSS since his youth and took part in several roles across the country prior to being active in the BJP in 2015.

After he became West Bengal's BJP president, he established the BJP as the main opposition party in the state, replacing the CPI(M). "My mother wanted me to get married, so to honour her wish, I am tying the knot. I will continue to be in active politics as I was before. My personal life will have no impact on my political work," Ghosh said, as per the PTI report.

Senior BJP leaders, including the party's state president Sukanta Majumdar, visited Dilip Ghosh’s New Town residence on Friday morning to extend their wishes. Sources revealed that the proposal came from the bride’s family.

"It was during an IPL match earlier this month, which Dilip Ghosh and his would-be wife attended, that they decided to get married," a BJP leader close to them confirmed.

While Ghosh has remained unmarried until now, this will be Majumdar’s second marriage. She also has a son from her previous marriage. Ghosh, who previously served as MP from Kharagpur, is expected to play a significant role in the upcoming state assembly elections next year.

Who Is Rinku Majumdar

Rinku Majumdar has been a member of the BJP for a long time. Majumdar has handled several key responsibilities for the party, including the women's wing or BJP Mahila Morcha, the OBC front, and the handloom cell, among others, India Today reported.

According to a report by Hindustan, Rinku Majumdar had been divorced earlier and has a 25-year-old son who works in an IT company in Salt Lake, Kolkata. Rinku's son is very happy with his mother's marriage to Dilip Ghosh, reported the Indian Express Bangla.
