ParaSafe report highlights urgent need for road safety awareness and action
ParaSafe, a subsidiary of Paracoat, is dedicated to redefining mobility by prioritising safety across all modes of travel. With a commitment to revolutionising road safety tools and embedding road awareness as a standard practice, ParaSafe has undertaken extensive research and published white papers to raise awareness and offer actionable insights for improving safety.
Road safety remains one of India’s most pressing public health and infrastructure challenges. In 2022, road accidents tragically claimed 1.68 lakh lives. Despite significant advancements in vehicle technology and infrastructure, the root causes—ignorance (65%) and weak enforcement of laws (52%) — persist. ParaSafe’s report sheds light on these critical issues, focusing on road safety awareness and practices in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.
Rajesh Poddar, CEO of ParaSafe, reflected on the findings: “Road safety isn’t just about following rules; it’s about saving lives. As an industry leader, promoting accountability across stakeholders—government, industry, and citizens—is our responsibility. The findings reveal an urgent need to bridge gaps in road safety preparedness. At ParaSafe, we believe awareness and accessibility to essential safety measures can significantly reduce accidents. It’s time we unite to ensure every journey on India’s roads is safer and more secure.”
