Indian Railway: Dozens of trains run daily between Bihar’s capital Patna and Delhi. Despite this, it is not at all easy to get confirmed tickets on trains running from Patna to Delhi or vice versa. This is one of the busiest routes of Indian Railways in terms of passengers and the trains operating on the Patna-Delhi route are always full. Considering this, the Indian Railways also operates several premium trains on this route. These include Patna Tejas Rajdhani Express, Guwahati-New Delhi Rajdhani, and Howrah-New Delhi Duronto Superfast trains.

The Duronto Superfast train that runs from Howrah to New Delhi Railway Station operates two days a week. This train runs every Monday and Friday between Howrah and Delhi. It also has a stop at Patna Junction. This train is considered as prestigious as the Rajdhani train, but it has one special feature which is sleeper coaches, so that passengers can enjoy high-quality facilities while traveling at a lower cost.

The Duronto Premium Superfast Train has been launched keeping in mind long-distance travel. With time, understanding its utility, some stoppages have been added between the origin and the last destination. Despite this, the Duronto train has fewer stoppages compared to superfast trains like the Rajdhani. The Duronto Superfast Train, which runs from Howrah Junction to New Delhi Railway Station, is quite popular among passengers. There are mainly two reasons for this. First, the Duronto Express has coaches from AC-3 to AC-1, allowing passengers to travel with luxury facilities. Second, sleeper coaches have also been added to the Duronto Superfast Train, enabling people to enjoy travel on a limited budget.

The purpose of adding sleeper coaches in Duronto is to provide relief to those who want to enjoy better travel at a lower budget. To travel from Patna to New Delhi in the AC coach of Duronto superfast, one has to pay 2385 rupees. Meanwhile, the fare for AC-1 is 4045 rupees, while traveling in the sleeper coach of the same train costs only 940 rupees. In this way, travel with premium trains becomes possible for less than a thousand rupees.
