40-Year-Old Fisherman Dies On Spot From Electric Current He Used For Catching Fish In Khandwa

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A 40-year-old man died from an electric shock while using current to catch fish in Khandwa on Friday.

The incident occurred in Morghari village, Khandwa.

It is being told that the young man became a victim of the electric current that he had used to kill the fish. Police reached the spot on information and recovered the body and sent it to Omkareshwar Hospital for postmortem.

The deceased is identified as 40-year-old, named Mukesh son of Sukhlal Barela, a resident of Morghari. He was catching fish by applying electric current in a drain near the village, so that he could catch them. He used to sell these fish after catching them.

Mortakka Chowki Police has started investigation in the matter. However catching fish through electric current is against the government rule, but still this method is widely used in area.

Here, the case of catching fish by using electric current is not new. It was told that in Omkareshwar reservoir, the contractor company also kills fish by applying electric current and takes them out with a big machine.

Doing this is against the government rules. At the same time, the employment of fishermen is being snatched away.

A complaint was made to Matsya Mahasangh in the matter. But no action was taken against the contractor of Indore.
