Many directors in the industry are known for their perfection. There is another director who works very meticulously in his films. Although his name is Singireddy Naga Ashwin, people popularly know him as Nag Ashwin. He is the man behind the making of Kalki 2898 AD starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, and Amitabh Bachchan.
38-year-old Nag Ashwin was born on 23 April 1986 in Hyderabad. His father is Jayaram and mother is Jayanti Reddy. Everyone in his family is a doctor. From parents to sister, everyone. But Naka wanted to do something different and he studied mass communication. Later, he did a course in direction from The New York Film Academy. After getting the degree, he started working with Ajay Shastri. He assisted Ajay Shastri in the film Nenu Meeku Telusa.
Nag Ashwin made only three films in his career, then he made his debut as a director in 2015. His first film was Yevade Subramanyam, in which Vijay Deverakonda appeared. His first film itself became a hit. After this, he made Mahanati in the year 2018, which was a biographical drama. This was also a hit in terms of collection. Nag Ashwin has made only 3 films in his career, and the third film was Kalki 2898 AD, in which many stalwarts like Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Prabhas, and Kamal Haasan appeared. He made the film in a mega budget of 600 crores, and it crossed Rs 1000 crores worldwide.
Meet Nag Ashwin’s wife
Now let’s come to Nag Ashwin’s love story. He is married to the industry’s popular producer Priyanka Dutt. She is one of the most popular producers of South Indian cinema. Priyanka made her debut as a filmmaker at 20. Today she is the founder of ‘The Angels Studio’. In the year 2013, her short film Yaadon Ki Baaraat premiered at the Cannes Film Festival.
Priyanka and Nag met during an advertisement project. Both of them had to meet often in connection with work. This is how they became friends and then fell in love. Once Priyanka told Nag that she was getting marriage proposals. Then Nag asked her that if someone loves someone, should they ask for marriage. Then his would-be wife said that let’s get married. And so they got married in 2015. Now they also have a son whose name is Rishi.
Nag Ashwin’s father-in-law is Ashwini Dutt. He is one of the biggest producers of Telugu cinema. Dutt laid the foundation of South’s biggest production house Vaijanti Movies in the year 1974. He worked with this production house for 5 decades and produced 40 films. Priyanka Dutt’s father has also contested elections on behalf of Telugu Desam Party in the year 2004.
