Indore's AICTSL To Streamline Operations, Go In For Transport Overhaul

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): In a significant move towards transforming urban mobility, Atal Indore City Transport Services Limited (AICTSL) held its board meeting today under the chairmanship of mayor and board president Pushyamitra Bhargav.

Key reforms aimed at improving passenger services and operational efficiency were approved.

One of the major decisions included the termination of multiple agencies associated with the BRTS (Bus Rapid Transit System). These agencies were responsible for the management and maintenance of CCTV cameras and automatic doors at iBus stations, the operation of 30 CNG buses, traffic signal maintenance and advertisement installations across corridor infrastructure such as railings, kiosks, streetlight poles and unipoles.

This move marks a strong step towards restructuring service contracts and streamlining operations.

The Board also approved the removal of 20 existing median BRTS bus stops, with plans to construct 40 new curb-side bus stops on both sides of the BRTS corridors. The tender process for this major shift will begin shortly.

Looking ahead, AICTSL is preparing a comprehensive tender plan for advertisement opportunities along BRTS routes and is set to launch a pilot project for luxury air-conditioned electric buses on selected city routes. Detailed analysis and tender invitations will follow soon.
