Hoax Bomb Scare At Kanpur's Chakeri Airport, Accused Arrested

Kanpur: Panic gripped Kanpur's Chakeri airport on Friday, after airport officials received a hoax bomb threat. Reportedly, an unknown youth called the airport officials to inform about the bomb over the phone.

As soon as the information was received, the officials swung into action and every corner of the airport was searched.

On investigation, the information was found to be false. Airport authorities informed the Police about the youth who called. There was information about a bomb in a 72 seater plane. However, airport officials said that no 72 seater plane lands in Kanpur.

Police Action

A case has been registered against the accused in Chakeri police station. The Police traced the man's mobile location and nabbed him from Yashodanagar.

Earlier in the month, a Mumbai-bound IndiGo plane from Jaipur, with 225 passengers plus crew onboard, landed at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) on Monday under full emergency conditions due to a bomb threat on a note found inside the aircraft.
