35-Year-Old BJP Worker Dies By Suicide Near Bengaluru After Posting Facebook Video Alleging Harassment

A 35-year-old man died by suicide near Bengaluru after alleging, in a video posted on Facebook, that several individuals had mentally and physically harassed him. Among those named was a local BJP leader.

The victim, identified as Praveen Gowda Belur, is associated with the accused Kiran Gowda, Harish, Bhaskar Narayanappa, Doddahagade Madhu Gowda, and Saravana, who subjected him to mental harassment. He claimed that these individuals had been harassing him for the past two months.

The deceased specifically named Kiran Gowda as his primary tormentor and alleged that he frequently harassed women over phone calls. He urged authorities not to spare Kiran.

In the video, Belur also alleged that he was physically assaulted by BJP Mandal President Muniraju Gowda, local councillor Bhagyamma, and her husband Srinivas.

He claimed he was invited to Muniraju’s house under the pretext of discussing financial matters. There, Bhagyamma and Srinivas allegedly called a group of individuals who assaulted him for nearly two hours and seized his phone. Later, he was found hanging from a tree near a school in Anekal, on the outskirts of Bengaluru.
