Kesari Chapter 2 first reviews: Akshay Kumar, Ananya Panday, R. Madhavan’s film receives rave reviews, fans call it ‘cinematic explosion of patriotism’

Finally, after a lot of anticipation, Akshay Kumar, R. Madhavan, and Ananya Panday’s highly-awaited film Kesari 2 has hit the big screens today (April 18, 2025). The film is a gripping courtroom drama and it shows the aftermath of the tragic 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre. The film delves into the legal battle led by C. Sankaran Nair against the British Empire. The movie is based on Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat’s book called ‘The Case That Shook The Empire’. Ever since the film’s trailer was released, it created a lot of expectations and looked promising.

As Kesari 2 has hit the big screens, the first reviews for the film have also started to pour in. Viewers took to X (formerly known as Twitter) and shared their views about the film. While Akshay Kumar plays C. Sankaran Nair, Madhavan portrays Neville McKinley, Nair’s opposing counsel. On the other hand, Ananya Panday plays Dilreet Gill. Their performances have added depth to the characters, and the camera beautifully captured the emotions and struggles faced by those involved.

Apart from the main three characters, the supporting cast includes Regina Cassandra as Palat Kunhimalu Amma, Simon Paisley Day as General Reginald Dyer, and Alexx O’Nell as Lord Chelmsford.
