BCM School, Chandigarh Road, proudly hosted north India’s largest career expo, welcoming over 50 prestigious universities from across the globe. The event served as a platform for students to explore academic opportunities, connect with university representatives, and gain insights into future career paths. The expo was inaugurated by Dr Prem Kumar, manager of BCM School, who officially declared the event open. Principal DP Guleria encouraged students to take advantage of the enriching experience and emphasised the importance of such platforms in making informed career decisions. Adding immense value to the expo were breakout sessions on profile building, on-the-spot scholarship opportunities, and even admission offer letters, making it a truly transformative experience for the attendees.
Nankana Sahib Public School
Displaying their skills in sports once again the players of Nankana Sahib Public School, Gill Park, succeeded in clinching the gold medal in the U-19 category at the Hooper’s Basketball Championship 2025. The championship was held at International Public School, Haibowal and the medal winning players included Armaan Sharma of XII-Commerce and Prabhjot Singh of XI-Arts.
Shamrock Christian School
The aesthetic club of Shamrock Christian Senior Secondary School organised fabric-painting activity for girls and cooking without fire competition for boys. The girls showcased their creativity by painting directly on the fabric using various techniques like free-hand painting etc to create designs on jute bags, table cloths and bedsheets. The event highlighted how one could transform everyday material into beautiful works of art. The boys learned how to cook food without fire in a safe environment. They prepared nutritious dishes, including sandwiches, cupcakes etc. All the participants were awarded certificates and trophies.
Khalsa College for Women
The Hindi and Sanskrit departments of Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ludhiana, organised a special session on ‘Ayurveda- A Legacy of Indian Knowledge System’, with special emphasis on yoga meditation and motivation. A number of students participated in the session to learn about meditation techniques. Acharya Dr Lokesh and Dr Kunwar Ranjan from Vedant Gurukul, Ludhiana, were the resource persons for the session. The speakers deliberated on meditation practices that helped combat stress, develop focus and enhance self- awareness. They also demonstrated meditation techniques to achieve balance between the mind and body and develop mindfulness. Dr Lokesh further highlighted how yoga and meditation could help alleviate stress, anxiety and depression among young individuals, while improving life quality and mental wellbeing.
Guru Nanak Engineering College
Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Gill Park, Ludhiana, hosted an orientation ceremony for the candidates selected for Punjab100 Phase III, an initiative by Prayas Educational and Charitable Society in association with the center of multifacted learning (CML) at GNDEC, aimed at empowering 100 girls from Punjab with free online CAT coaching. The programme, inspired by the Super 30 model, seeks to prepare young women from economically weaker sections for India’s top business schools and future corporate leadership. The candidates, along with their parents, attended the session where their documents were verified, programme details were shared, and selection letters were distributed. The event was graced by chief guest Swati Munjal and motivational speaker Mandeep Tangra. They inspired the students by sharing their success stories. Sony Goyal, founder of Punjab100, emphasised the initiative’s long-term vision to see 100 deserving women enter and excel in India’s premier B-schools. Principal Sehijpal Singh said we were proud to support such efforts that align with our vision of inclusive and empowering education.
Govind National College
Professor Sanjay Kaushik, dean, College Development Council, Panjab University Chandigarh, was the chief guest at the convocation at Govind National College, Narangwal, held recently. Principal Sandeep Sahni read the progress report of the institution. The chief guest said this was an era of competition and students must work hard to survive in it. He said graduating was just the beginning of life and students would have to overcome many difficulties in life. He urged students to work hard for their country.
