Cops save 23-year-old woman from committing suicide in Gurugram
The police managed to save a 23-year-old woman, who was attempting to commit suicide, in Gurugram. The woman had locked herself up in a room with a gas cylinder and lighter in her hand, however, the police foiled the attempt by breaking the door.
Police Commissioner Vikas Kumar Arora announced the decision to honour the policemen who saved the girl by giving them a certificate and a cash reward of Rs 5,000.
According to the police, a police emergency response vehicle received information that a woman was trying to commit suicide in Alipur village near Bhondsi. She had locked herself up in a room and opened the LPG cylinder while holding a lighter in her hand.
After receiving information, Head Constable Sanjay, Constable Dinesh and SPO Sundar Lal reached the spot and rescued the woman. The video of an official breaking the door has also gone viral on social media.
“The woman police were also called to talk to the woman, who assured them that it wouldn’t happen in future. She is completely safe and her family members were informed about the incident,” said a spokesperson for the Gurugram police.
