Army Jawan Held For Training Accused In Grenade Attack At YouTuber's Residence In Jalandhar

An Army jawan has been arrested by the police in connection with the grenade attack outside a YouTuber's residence in Jalandhar last month, the cops said. Sukhcharan Singh was arrested for imparting online training to the accused who hurled the grenade. 

The soldier was sent to a five-day police remand by a court in Jalandhar, the officials said, reported PTI. 

Hardik Kamboj, the main accused in the case had hurled the hand grenade at the house of YouTuber Rozer Sandhu on the intervening night of March 15 and 16. The grenade, however, did not explode.

Provided Online Training To Accused 

During the investigation into the incident, it was revealed that Singh provided online training to Kambok on thrwing the grenade at the at the residence of the YouTuber, said Senior Superintendent of Police (Jalandhar Rural) Harvinder Singh Virk.

According to the police, Singh came in contact with Kamboj through social media platform Intagram. Singh, originally from Muktsar, was named in the FIR and an arrest warrant was secured from a court, the SSP said. 

The Army authorities have been apprised about Singh's role in the matter, the police said. 

So far, nine people have been arrested in connection with the matter, including Kamboj. 

Pakistani gangster Shahzad Bhatti has claimed responsibility for the attack at Sandhu's house over his use of alleged derogatory language against the Muslim community.
