Dy Speaker: Supply of clean drinking water govt’s priority
Water is life. Ensuring the availability of clean drinking water is among the top priorities of the state government. This was stated by Himachal Pradesh Assembly Deputy Speaker Vinay Kumar while addressing a large public gathering after inaugurating a lift drinking water supply scheme at Lana Cheta panchayat under the Renuka Ji Assembly constituency.
Constructed at a cost of Rs 1.57 crore, the newly inaugurated scheme is set to benefit around 3,174 people across 16 hamlets in six villages of the panchayat. Speaking at the event, Vinay Kumar emphasised that the project would provide a permanent solution to drinking water issues faced by the local population.
Following the inauguration, the Deputy Speaker participated in religious rituals at an ongoing seven-day Bhagwat Katha event at Gussan village. Later, he also attended a felicitation ceremony organised in honour of Joginder Chauhan, Engineer-in-Chief, Jal Shakti Department, who recently retired from service.
