Tejashwi to be INDIA bloc’s Bihar CM face against NDA
RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav will be the chief ministerial face of Mahagathbandan (Grand Alliance) against BJP-led NDA in Bihar for the upcoming elections in the state, The Tribune learnt on Thursday. This was the first meeting of the ‘Grand Alliance’ in view of upcoming Assembly elections.
The meeting of the alliance was held in Patna in which RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, Congress state incharge Krishna Allavaru, Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee president Rajesh Kumar and senior leaders of Left parties and Vikas Sheel Insaan Party (VIP) participated.
Sources told The Tribune in today’s meeting of the grouping, the alliance partners including Congress, RJD, Left parties and VIP unanimously chose Tejashwi Yadav as head of the coordination committee.
“A formation of coordination committees at the state, district and block level has been done. Tejashwi Yadav will be its chairman. All things related to campaigning, manifesto, issues of people and agenda will be decided by the coordination committee,” said a source.
Another source who was also part of the meeting told The Tribune there was consensus among the alliance partners in the meeting over Tejashwi Yadav as the CM face for the upcoming elections. “Nobody differed over it. Everybody at the meeting was positive about it,” the source said.
The elections for the 243-member Bihar Assembly is scheduled to be held later this year.
