Drug-free Haryana cyclothon reaches Karnal

As part of the Haryana Uday outreach campaign aimed at building a drug-free Haryana, the state-wide cyclothon named “Hum Sabka Saanjha Sapna – Nasha Mukt Ho Haryana Apna” reached Karnal on Thursday. Karnal MLA Jagmohan Anand and Mayor Renu Bala Gupta welcomed the participants and reaffirmed their commitment to the mission of a drug-free Haryana.

The cyclothon is travelling across the state, spreading awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and encouraging citizens—especially the youth—to join the fight against addiction.

Addressing the gathering, MLA Anand said, “This is not just a journey on bicycles, but a movement to transform society. Drug addiction is a serious threat to our youth and our future. We must unite as a community to eradicate this menace.” He also participated in the cyclothon and interacted with citizens, urging them to take a pledge against drugs.

Mayor Gupta echoed similar sentiments, saying, “Under the leadership of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, Haryana is witnessing remarkable development, and a drug-free environment is essential for a healthy society. This campaign reflects the government’s resolve to combat drug abuse through awareness and collective action.”

Earlier, the cyclothon was welcomed at Kutana village of the Assandh constituency, where Assandh MLA Yogendra Rana received it along with enthusiastic locals and administrative officials.

Representatives of 84 panchayats felicitated

On the call of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, the ongoing Cyclothon-2.0 carrying the message and pledge of Drug Free Haryana was welcomed at the Mini-Secretariat. Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda flagged off the Cyclothon-2.0 for Karnal. Earlier the Education Minister felicitated the representatives of 84 village panchayats for working sincerely for making their villages drug-free.Dhanda also administered an anti-drug oath to the youth and people present during the programme. Dhanda, along with district president Dushyant Bhatt, DC Virender Kumar Dahiya, SP Lokender Singh and other officials were present during the programme.
