'Manjummel Boys' star Sreenath Bhasi demanded marijuana at film set: Mollywood film producer makes shocking claim
Mollywood actor Sreenath Bhasi
Noted Mollywood actor Sreenath Bhasi often used drugs on film sets, a producer alleged on social media. Sreenath Bhasi, known for his roles in Manjummel Boys, Honey Bee and Da Thadiya amongst others, uses his caravan to store and use drugs while on film sets, producer Hazeeb Malabar said.
Malabar's Hazeebz Films and MGC Private Limited had jointly bankrolled by Namukku Kodathiyil Kaanam which featured Bhasi along with Renji Panicker and Johny Antony. While on the sets of the Sanjith Chandrasenan directorial, he received a call from Bhasi demanding marijuana, the producer said. It was around three in the morning that the 36-year-old contacted him over the phone demanding the substance, Hazeeb claimed. The lack of cooperation on the actor's part resulted in the shooting and dubbing getting delayed, he added.
The accusations come after Shine Tom Chacko, another Mollywood star, was accused of drug abuse at film sets by Kerala State Film Award winner Vincy Aloshious. Later, Shine Tom Chacko was caught on camera fleeing a hotel room after a police room arrived for a search.

Officials, comprising five officials, were raiding his room when the actor escaped through a window and ran out through the hotel reception. The raid was conducted based on the information that Chacko and his friends have been using drugs. The DANSAF team suspects that the actor and his friends were tipped off about the raid in advance.
Vincy Aloshious has filed a complaint against actor Shine Tom Chacko with the Film Chamber and the Internal Complaints Committee of the film Soothravakyam. Earlier, she had posted an Instagram video alleging that an actor who uses illicit drugs had misbehaved with her. Vincy also announced that she would no longer act alongside actors who use drugs.
Back in 2015, Chacko was arrested in a cocaine case. But this year, he was acquitted in the case. However, the Ernakulam Additional Sessions Court strongly criticized the police for lapses in this 2015 drug bust case.
