The ‘World’s First Fully Organic State’ is in India; its name begins with the letter ‘S’

Sikkim, nestled in the Himalayas, achieved a remarkable feat by becoming the world's first fully organic state in 2016. This transformation, initiated in 2003 under Chief Minister Pawan Kumar Chamling, involved a complete shift away from chemical fertilizers and pesticides. The state's dedication earned it the UN FAO's Future Policy Gold Award in 2018.
