Kashmir Vande Bharat: The Vande Bharat train running between Katra in Jammu and Srinagar was to be flagged off on 19 April, but due to the postponement of PM Modi’s visit, it will take some more time. However, ticket booking for this train will start from this week itself. Vande Bharat coaches have been made at the Chennai-based Integral Coach Factory (ICF). This will make travel to Kashmir from across the country easier. However, for safety reasons, passengers will first have to come to Katra in Jammu by a train and then get the Vande Bharat train for Srinagar from here. A good news has come from the railways, in which it has been told that like other trains, children below five years of age will not be charged tickets in this Vande Bharat going to Kashmir.

Indian Railways will soon give information about the fare and schedule for the Vande Bharat train running to Srinagar. It is believed that it can be released by April 19. Its maintenance will be done by Northern Railway (NR). However, it is believed that the ticket for AC chair car can be Rs 1600 and the fare of executive chair car can be up to Rs 2500. Official information about the fare will be given soon. Like other trains, children up to five years of age will travel free in this train. Talking to ‘ET Now’, a senior official of Indian Railways has confirmed that it will be free for children below five years of age to travel by Vande Bharat train. However, if they need a seat, they will have to pay the full fare.

You will be able to reach Kashmir in just three hours

It usually takes seven to eight hours to reach Kashmir from Jammu by road, but this time will be halved through Vande Bharat. People will be able to travel from Katra to Srinagar in just three hours through Vande Bharat. This will not only benefit the tourists going to Kashmir, but this train can also prove beneficial for local development. During the Kashmir journey, this train will also pass through the world’s highest railway bridge built on the Chenab River in the Reasi sector.
