Congress Takes Dig At Haryana BJP's Ghibli Post Of Modi With Fan Who Walked Barefoot For 14 Years
Rampal Kashyap, a resident of Kaithal in Haryana who had remained barefoot for 14 years, vowing not to wear shoes until Modi became Prime Minister, met PM Modi on Monday. During his visit to Yamunanagar, PM Modi helped Kashyap to wear footwear, fulfilling the man's long-standing promise. The moment was widely shared after Prime Minister Narendra Modi posted it on X.
“At today’s public meeting in Yamunanagar, I met Shri Rampal Kashyap Ji from Kaithal. He had taken a vow 14 years ago – that he will only wear footwear after I became PM and he got to meet me,” PM Modi wrote.
PM Modi's post included a video where he can be seen giving shoes for Rampal Kashyap to wear and remarking, “Do not do this again; keep working, but do not cause yourself this pain.”
Kashyap’s devotion had reportedly become well-known in his local community over the years, with residents acknowledging his quiet commitment since 2010. For Kashyap, meeting the Prime Minister marked the culmination of over a decade of determination.
On Wednesday, Haryana BJP posted a Ghibli of the image on X. The post had Modi Ji as a caption on X. Meanwhile, the Congress unit of Kerala reposted the photo and took dig on the post. "Using Ghibli-style art to show Modi ji trying on Adani's shoe," the post read.
