Bhopal Taxi Driver Kidnapped By Old Rival, Beaten After Refusing To Join Alcohol Smuggling Gang
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A taxi driver was kidnapped by four youths, held hostage and brutally thrashed for refusing to smuggle alcohol at Shahpura area in Bhopal.
The victim alleged that the accused also urinated on him.
The victim identified as Devendra Lodhi (33), resident of Rohit Nagar Phase-2, works as a taxi driver. He said that on Wednesday night he was returning home near Aakriti Eco City. Suddenly, Tarun Parche arrived with three other companions arrived. Devendra has an old dispute with Tarun.
Accused beat him till he fainted
The complainant alleged that the four accused hurled abuses at him, forced him on a bike and took him to a room in Panchsheel Nagar. There, he was pressured to join in the liquor smuggling. On refusing, the accused beat him till he fainted.
The victim said that he was also urinated on and when he regained consciousness, he was threatened that if he told anyone, they would kill him.
TT Nagar police station refused to file complaint
Devendra told that after getting free from the clutches of the accused, "I first reached TT Nagar police station. After listening to the complaint, the police told me that the FIR will be registered at the place from where I was picked up. Following which I reached Shahpura police station, where after getting medical done, the police registered a case of simple assault."
Shahpura police station TI Lokendra Singh Thakur said that FIR has been registered as per the complainant's statement. Cases have been registered against Devendra in the past as well. The entire dispute is about an old rivalry.
