Old, unrelated video shared as footage of Saurabh Rajput murder case crime scene
The story uses only screenshots and not the actual videos in view of the graphic nature of the footage.
The murder of Saurabh Rajput from Meerut allegedly by his wife Muskan Rastogi and her partner Sahil Shukla recently sent shock waves across the country. Now, a video has gone viral which claims to show how the alleged crime was carried out. Text embedded on the clip reads, “How Saurabh was killed, watch with a heavy heart.”
In the video, a group of policemen enter a room containing a deep freezer and pieces of meat lying on the floor. A photo of Rajput is seen below the clip which also states “Hatya” (Murder).
Facebook user Raghvendra Yadav shared the video on March 24, 2025 and wrote, “Watch with bated breath how Saurabh was hacked to death.” (Archived link)
A few YouTube channels like ‘Arjun Rajput 8433‘ and ‘punam 9696‘ also shared this video claiming it to be linked to the Saurabh murder case. (Archived link 1, link 2)

Fact Check
When Alt News examined the viral video closely, we noticed that it showed a freezer and pieces of flesh scattered around on the floor of a room. However, in the Saurabh murder case, there were reports of the body being cut into pieces and stuffed inside a blue drum. There was no news about any such viral video on social media.
Continuing our investigation further, we performed a reverse image search using frames taken from the viral video. This video was uploaded as a YouTube Short on a channel on March 22, 2025. We noticed an Instagram handle featured in the clip with the username ‘@HAPPY.TYAGI.587’.
Taking a cue from this, we performed a search on Instagram for the user @HAPPY.TYAGI.587 which led us to a profile named Happy Tyagi. This account has more than 2.12 lakh followers. On this profile, we found a longer version of the viral video uploaded on October 28, 2024.
Alt News also searched for Happy Tyagi’s other social media pages. We found another video related to the viral video uploaded on Facebook on October 28, 2024. The video reads, “Today we received information and caught the infidel who slaughtered a cow.”
This confirms that this video has nothing to do with the Saurabh murder case.
According to a BBC News Hindi report dated March 20, 2025, Sahil, the lover, along with Muskaan, murdered Saurabh. After the murder, his head and palms were chopped off and put in a drum and filled with a mixture of cement and sand. The police took the drum into custody and brought it to the police station. There, the drum was cut and the body was removed and sent for a post-mortem. Muskaan and Sahil are both currently in police custody.
To sum up, a five-month-old video of a large quantity of animal meat recovered in a house was recently shared on social media with false claims linking it to the Saurabh murder case.
