Meet designer of Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani’s Rs 15000 crore Antilia which has 3 helipads, Snow room and a garage for..
Mumbai’s skyline is dotted with many luxurious buildings, but nothing stands out quite like Antilia, the extravagant home of the Ambani family. Built at an estimated cost of Rs. 15,000 crore, this 27-storey private residence is more than just a home, it’s a symbol of wealth, ambition, and cutting-edge engineering. From the outside, Antilia’s towering structure grabs attention. Inside, it’s filled with jaw-dropping features: A private temple, a 50-seat cinema, a ballroom, a yoga studio, a fitness center, three private helipads, a snow room that creates artificial snowfall to escape Mumbai’s humidity, and a parking space for 168 cars. It’s also built to survive powerful earthquakes up to a magnitude of 8.0.
The architectural brilliance behind Antilia comes from the US based firm Perkins & Will, a respected design company that began back in 1935. Its founders, Lawrence Perkins and Philip Will Jr., were classmates at Cornell University, and their firm has been known for combining aesthetics with thoughtful, functional design. Today, Perkins & Will is part of the Dar Al-Handasah group, a global design and consultancy network.
When it came to turning the vision into reality, Leighton Asia, a top-tier construction company, was brought in. Headquartered in Hong Kong and part of Australia’s CIMIC Group, Leighton Asia has decades of experience building major infrastructure projects across Asia. The company has also handled several other important assignments for Reliance Industries, including the development of a K-12 international school.
Gauri Khan adds her magic to Antilia’s bar lounge
In 2019, renowned interior designer Gauri Khan brought her signature touch of luxury and elegance to Antilia. Known for her refined taste, Gauri was invited to design a stylish bar lounge inside the mansion.
Her design choices reflected a calm and classy aesthetic. She used soft pastel shades, delicate lotus patterns, and a modern yet warm vibe that blended beautifully with the grandeur of Antilia. The result was a space that felt inviting, sophisticated, and perfectly suited for quiet gatherings or relaxed evenings.
Gauri, who has worked with many celebrities and high-profile clients, continues to be a leading name in the world of interior design. In 2018, Fortune India recognised her talent by naming her among the 50 Most Powerful Women in the country.
