Actress Swasika backs Vincy Aloshious' complaint against Shine Tom Chacko, says 'stringent action' should be taken

Malayalam actress Swasika Vijay has come forward in support of Vincy Aloshious's complaint against co-star Shine Tom Chacko with regard to his on-set misbehaviour.

Applauding the 'Rekha' actress' bold stand, Swasika, who acted with Shine in the film Vivekanandan Viralanu, said that since she did not work on the film where Vincy faced this issue, she cannot add more details and that her experience with the 'Good Bad Ugly' and 'Alappuzha Gymkhana' actor was not the same.

While commending Shine's professionalism on the set of Vivekandanan Viralanu, Swasika recalled how he was punctual, promptly showing up for his shots and finishing his work properly. "It was because of his cooperation that we were able to finish the film on schedule," she added.

However, she asserted that any form of misbehaviour shouldn't be tolerated. "I don't know about the legalities involved, but something like this shouldn't happen from anyone's side, and such incidents shouldn't happen in any workplace. Let people do whatever they want in their private space, but not at work," said Swasika in a conversation with Manorama Online, hinting at the drug-induced shenanigans of some actors in the industry and suggesting the producers' association take stringent action. "It creates discomfort for not just the women but also men." 

 

A couple of days ago, while speaking at an anti-drug campaign, Vincy Aloshious said she will not work with actors who, to her knowledge, use drugs. While the statement prompted cheers at the programme, social media was not too kind to her, mocking the actress, following which she posted an Instagram video clarifying the reasons for making such a statement. Aloshious recalled an incident on a film set where her male co-star behaved inappropriately towards her. 

 

At the time, she had not revealed who the 'actor' was but only recalled seeing him using drugs while rehearsing a scene. She further added that the director had a conversation with the actor about his unruly behaviour, just so they could wrap up the film. “When it became too uncomfortable for me, many came to my aid and comforted me. I only had a few days left on set, so I held on just to complete the shoot.”
