Looking at the profit of Facebook, many assume that the salary of Facebook’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, might be in millions. Though he is  one of the wealthiest persons in the world, he still earns just $1 annually as his salary. Still, how is Zuckerberg among the richest people  in the world?

Facebook, now known as Meta Platforms, is one of the world’s largest social networking platforms. Mark Zuckerberg and his team has been managing such a big platform since 2004. Facebook went public in 2012 and became massive in social media presence and also in terms of its earnings.

Mark Zuckerberg Salary

According to media reports, Zuckerberg is the lowest-paid employee at Facebook. Since 2013, he has drawn only $1 as a salary. In 2018, a company report highlighted that Zuckerberg himself suggested reducing his salary to $1, with a drop from the $500,000 (approximately Rs 4 crore) which he used to earn annually before 2013.

Mark Zuckerberg’s Education 

Mark Zuckerberg was born on May 14, 1984, in White Plains, New York. He is the founder, chairman, and CEO of Meta Platforms, formerly known as Facebook. Zuckerberg went to Ardsley High School and then transferred to Phillips Exeter Academy.

In 2002, he went to Harvard University, studied psychology and computer science. During his second year, he launched ‘TheFacebook’ , a social networking site initially only for his fellow students in Harvard which later became a big Tech giant.
