Ayatollah Khamenei in Massive trouble as Iran faces a new challenge, not US or Israel, country faces threat from…, Supreme leader to…

New Delhi: Ayatollah Khamenei, Iran’s Supreme Leader, who often threatens the world with nuclear weapons, is now facing a new kind of fear. It’s not missiles or bombs that are creating panic in Iran but a severe crisis of water. According to the reports, Iran is witnessing a severe water crisis. And this threat isn’t just environmental—it looms large over Iran’s social and political stability as well. Khamenei’s concerns have deepened further as the water situation in several major provinces has reached a “tipping point,” a dangerously critical stage.

96 percent of Dams Have Run Dry

Iran’s Ministry of Energy, in its recent statement, said that the water crisis has taken a severe turn in key provinces such as Tehran, Isfahan, Razavi Khorasan, and Yazd. The Karaj Dam, which supplies water to the capital Tehran, is now operating at only 6 percent of its capacity—meaning 94 percent of the dam is empty.

How Iran is Standing on the Brink of a Water Crisis

It is important to note that the roots of Iran’s water crisis lie in the country’s policies and its growing population. After the 1979 revolution, the religious leadership emphasized a self-sufficient agricultural system, which led to a significant increase in water consumption. Over the past 50 years, the population has grown by more than 250 percent, resulting in a corresponding rise in water demand.

In addition, the influx of millions of illegal immigrants from Afghanistan and the migration from villages to cities have further strained urban water supplies. The stoppage of water flow from the Helmand River has also worsened tensions between Afghanistan and Iran.

People Forced to Go Hours Without Water

In Iran, people are being forced to go hours without water, and at times, muddy water flows from the taps. The shortage of water is creating challenges in hospitals and is also affecting food security. The impact of this crisis is being felt not only by humans but also by the environment.
