Over 1,000 Jobs Offered To Youth By 28 Companies At Mega Job Fair In J&K's Baramulla

A mega job fair was held at the Chinar Yuva Centre in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla to enhance employment avenues for the youth in the district. The fair was organised by the District Administration Baramulla, in collaboration with the Dagger Division of the Indian Army and District Employment and Counselling Centre Baramulla on Wednesday.

The event was attended by Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Baramulla, Javed Hassan Baig; Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Minga Sherpa; senior Army officers, district-level officers, and representatives of participating companies. It witnessed overwhelming participation from hundreds of job aspirants from across the district, a report by Greater Kashmir said.

As many as 28 reputed companies from various sectors such as automobile, banking, education, hospitality, and other service industries participated in the mega job fair, collectively offering 1,024 vacancies. The companies conducted on-the-spot interviews, with some issuing provisional appointment letters during the event itself.

Apart from the private companies, various line departments of the district administration set up stalls to share information about key livelihood and self-employment schemes, including MUMKIN, Tejaswini, PMEGP, Mission YUVA and NRLM to spread awareness. These stalls were also meant to encourage entrepreneurship and inform youth about the self-sustenance and growth opportunities made available by the government.

Baramulla MLA lauded the District Administration and the Indian Army for their efforts in jointly organising the job fair.

Speaking on the occasion, Baig said: "This initiative reflects the growing commitment of our institutions to the future of our youth. Such collaboration between civil administration and defense forces is commendable and essential for building trust and development at the grassroots level. I congratulate the District Administration for creating meaningful opportunities for our young generation."

As per the report, two selected candidates were handed over appointment letters by the Deputy Commissioner Baramulla. He also interacted with job aspirants and company representatives, and expressed satisfaction over the fair's success while addressing the media. 

"Our aim is to empower the youth of Baramulla by connecting them with real opportunities," said DC. "This job fair is more than just a recruitment drive. It is a step toward building confidence among our young population and encouraging them to pursue careers, skills, and entrepreneurship with the full backing of the administration and the private sector."

He further appreciated the companies and departments that encouraged youth by participating in the fair. "Baramulla’s youth are talented and eager to contribute to society. We will keep creating platforms like this where they can thrive and grow," he added.
