Sikhya Kranti: Development works inaugurated at schools

Under the ‘Punjab Sikhya Kranti’ campaign launched by the state government to change the face of government schools, development works worth Rs 76.44 lakh were dedicated in 12 government schools of the district today. These works include new classrooms, boundary walls, science labs and necessary renovation works.

MLA from Kartarpur Assembly constituency Balkar Singh today inaugurated the development works completed at a cost of about Rs 27.90 lakh at Government Primary School, Easpur, Kala Bahia, Bhatija Randhawa, Jalla Singh and Government High School, Kala Bahia.

Addressing a gathering after inaugurating the development works at Government Primary School, Easpur, Balkar Singh said the state government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is changing the face of schools by providing ultra-modern infrastructure in government schools of the state. He said the Punjab government is developing ultra-modern infrastructure such as smart classrooms, science labs, sports tracks, digital learning system, cluster rooms and boundary walls in schools.

The MLA said the Punjab government had taken many initiatives in the field of education including setting up Schools of Eminence, sending teachers abroad for training, appointing campus managers and security guards and starting bus service. He appealed to the parents to get their children admitted in government schools and take advantage of the facilities being provided by the government such as free books, uniforms etc.
