JAMMU, Apr 16: Jammu and Kashmir BJP president, Sat Sharma CA, criticized the Congress party over the ongoing developments in the National Herald case. He accused Congress leadership of repeatedly misusing public office for personal gains.
He was addressing a press conference at party Headquarters, Trikuta Nagar, here, today, along with former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta, chief spokesperson, Sunil Sethi and party spokesperson, Arun Gupta.
Sat Sharma said that the National Herald is a serious case of corruption and betrayal of public trust. He said that the involvement of senior Congress leaders, including members of the Gandhi family, points to a pattern of systemic misuse of institutions for personal financial benefit. The Congress has consistently placed its own interests above those of the country. The National Herald case exposes how public funds and charitable assets were diverted for private enrichment, he asserted.
Sat Sharma accused that the Congress has used its dirty tricks to delay judicial proceedings in the case and manipulate public perception. Every time the legal system inches closer to exposing the truth, the Congress hides behind the veil of victimhood and plays the sympathy card,” he said.
Responding to questions from media persons, Sharma praised the efforts of investigative agencies and reiterated the BJP’s stance that no one is above the law. The law should take its course. The people of India have the right to know the truth about how their money and trust were betrayed by those in power for decades, he added.
Sharma also criticized Congress for trying to turn a legal matter into a political battle to divert attention from the core issue of corruption.
Sat Sharma called on the people to remain vigilant and support the fight against corruption. The truth must prevail. He said that political accountability and transparency are not optional — they are the backbone of a healthy democracy.
