Ex-minister flags farmers’ concerns before CM Saini
Former Minister and BJP state spokesperson Krishan Murti Hooda called on Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini in Chandigarh on Tuesday and raised concerns of farmers before him.
During the meeting, he apprised the Chief Minister that procurement officials at some centres were not buying rabi crops on grounds of excessive moisture, leaving the farmers distressed.
He urged the Chief Minister to instruct procurement agencies to act in the interest of the farmers by ensuring crop procurement of all farmers. Describing the CM as farmer-friendly, Krishan Murti said under Saini’s leadership, the BJP government in Haryana had initiated several measures to support the agricultural community. He further claimed that Haryana was the only state where 24 crops were being procured at the minimum support price (MSP).
“I briefed the Chief Minister about two recent Kisan Panchayats held in Rohtak district and informed him that more such meetings are planned to directly engage with the farmers and address their concerns. The next Kisan Panchayat will be held in Titoli village, with the date to be announced soon,” Krishan Murti added.
Taking a swipe at former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, the BJP leader accused him of making baseless allegations against the state government. “The farmers are satisfied with the proactive approach of the Saini-led BJP government. In contrast, the previous Congress regime, under Bhupinder Singh Hooda, left the farmers in a state of despair,” he alleged.
Krishan Murti also extended an invitation to Saini for an upcoming sports event at Kiloi village in Rohtak district. “The CM has accepted the invitation and is scheduled to attend the event on April 18,” he claimed.
