Smart queue management system rolled out to at Chandigarh’s GMCH

In a significant step toward enhancing patient experience at the facility, the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) has launched a queue management and display system at its ENT out-patient department (OPD).

The system, which has been designed in a way to streamline patient movement is a joint initiative between GMCH and Rotary Ambala, which donated both the hardware and software.

The system will be formally handed over to GMCH officials—Director Principal Dr AK Attri and Dr GP Thami—on April 16, 2025.

Upon registration, each patient then receives a printed slip containing a unique token number, the patient’s full name, and the assigned doctor. The first four digits of the token number indicate the consultation room, while the last three digits represent the patient’s owb unique sequence number.
