Man arrested for killing 10-yr-old sister-in-law in Gurugram

A 24-year-old man, upset with his wife for leaving the house, killed his 10-year-old sister-in-law to take revenge. The accused disposed of the body of the minor in the Bajghera drain after stuffing it in a plastic bag. He was later arrested.

According to the police, a man had filed a complaint on Monday, stating that his 10-year-old daughter, Sania, had gone missing under suspicious circumstances last Saturday.

An FIR was registered at the Palam Vihar police station and the police tried to search the missing girl, however, she was nowhere to be found. During questioning, it was revealed that the complainant’s elder daughter and her husband did not get along well.

Following this, the police arrested the accused, Mohit Kumar. The accused confessed to the murder.

He said that he had got married six years ago and had a child, but his wife did go to meet him. He talked to his in-laws, but they did not pay any attention, following which, he even tried to strangle his father-in-law. Feeling insulted, he started planning to take revenge from his in-laws.

“The accused revealed that on last Saturday, he lured his Sania to his room in Bajghera from Om Nagar and strangulated her. Following this, he put her body in a plastic bag and wrapped a shawl over it and then put it inside a sack and threw the body in the main hole of the Bajghera’s drain. We are questioning the accused,” said a spokesperson for the Gurugram police.

A police team recovered the body from the drain.
