Odisha Vigilance Unearths Assets worth over Crores from Athamallik AEE

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance has unearthed assets worth more than crores belonging to Rama Chandra Satpathy, Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) of Athamallik block in Angul district.
Due to the allegation of acquisition of disproportionate assets by Satpathy, the vigilance team led by 7 DSPs, 15 Inspectors, and supporting staff conducted simultaneous searches across eight locations in Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, and Kalahandi districts connected to the accused official.
During house searches so far, 17 high value plots, gold ornaments weighing 326 grams, Rs 63 lakh bank deposits and much more property disproportionate to his income have been unearthed.
The following assets have been unearthed in the name of Satpathy and his family members;
• Residential double storeyed building with area approx. 5000 Sqft located at Ward No.15, Plot no.12, Gayatri Nagar, Dhenkanal.
• 17 nos. of high value plots including 1 in Barang, Cuttack and rest 16 plots in and around Dhenkanal town. The measurement and valuation/assessment of the above building/plots are being carried out by Vigilance Technical Wing.
• Gold ornaments 326 gms.
• Cash Rs.23.95 Lakhs recovered during house search of son-in-law of Satpathy, Dr. Tapan Kumar Tripathy, Medical Officer, CHC, Junagarh. Both are being interrogated to ascertain the source of funds. The amount has been seized.
• Bank deposits over Rs.63.69 lakhs. Other deposits are being ascertained.
• 2 four wheelers (Honda Jazz in name of Sri Rama Chandra Satpathy & Hyundai i20 in name of his son-in-law) and 2 two wheelers.
