First Commercial Flight From Mumbai To Amravati Airport Takes Off With CM Devendra Fadnavis On Board

Mumbai: The first commercial flight from Mumbai to the newly constructed Amravati Airport successfully landed on Wednesday. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was on board the historic flight operated by Alliance Air (Flight 9I633), which received a grand water cannon salute upon arrival.

In an X post, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis mentioned, "Take off from Mumbai for Amravati! A historic day as the Amravati Airport becomes operational today! Regional connectivity is now a reality, unlocking new horizons of growth, opportunity, and transformation!"

Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, Union Minister of State Muralidhar Mohol, Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Minister Girish Mahajan, along with concerned officials and other dignitaries, were present on this occasion.

The inauguration of this air route is a part of the government’s continued push for enhancing regional air connectivity under the UDAN scheme. The Amravati Airport is expected to boost tourism, ease business travel, and open up greater investment opportunities in the Vidarbha region.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis inspected the miniature model of the newly constructed Amravati Airport, ahead of its official operational launch. During the inspection, the concerned officials provided a comprehensive briefing to the Chief Minister, outlining the features, infrastructure, and expected impact of the airport on the region.

Union Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu, Union Minister of State Muralidhar Mohol, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.

The miniature model provided a visual representation of the airport's layout, design elements, and proposed facilities, reflecting the state’s ambition to strengthen regional air connectivity and promote balanced development across Maharashtra.
