Maharashtra to set up advanced labs in 20 ITIs
Maharashtra will establish advanced laboratories in 20 ITIs, organise entrepreneur meets to provide training for micro and small entrepreneurs leading to job creation, and enhance technical education and employment opportunities for differently-abled students enrolled in ITIs. In the presence of CM Devendra Fadnavis, three MoUs were signed between the Department of Skill, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Innovation and social organizations Sri Sri Rural Development Program Trust, Bengaluru; Schneider Electric India Foundation, Bengaluru; Pune-based deAsra Foundation; and Project Mumbai, Andheri.
On the occasion, Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar; Minister for Skill, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Mangal Prabhat Lodha; members of the cabinet; Chief Secretary of the state Sujata Saunik; Additional Chief Secretary of the Skill Department Manisha Verma; Commissioner of Skill Development Nitin Patil; Director of the Directorate of Vocational Education and Training Madhavi Sardeshmukh; Joint Director Satish Suryawanshi; Trustee of SSRDPT Vijay Hake; CSR Head of Schneider Electric India Foundation Richa Gautam and Damini Chaudhary; Director of Project Mumbai Jalaj Dani; and CEO of deAsra Foundation Ashish Pandit, were present. To provide youth with training in new technologies and industrial skills, a tripartite MoU has been signed between Sri Sri Rural Development Trust, Schneider Electric India Foundation, and the Directorate of Vocational Education and Training. In line with the agreement, Schneider Electric India Foundation will enhance the quality of electrician trade workshops in 20 government ITIs in the state over the next three years. Additionally, solar technician labs and industrial automation labs will be set up. The foundation will also provide free 15-day advanced training in modern technology and soft skills in Bangalore to all electrician trade instructors from across the state. Through this MoU, 9,750 trainees will benefit from training in electrician trade, renewable energy technologies, and industrial automation over the next four years.
