SRK’s sister Shahnaz Lalarukh Khan is older than him. She prefers to stay away from fame and lives with Khan’s family in their Mumbai home.

After the demise of Shah Rukh Khan’s father, Meer Taj Mohammed Khan, things changed drastically for Shahnaz. She didn’t cry or say anything; she just fell to the floor and hit her head. It was hard for her to accept the truth. Khan shared in the video, “She didn’t cry, she didn’t say anything, she just fell and hit her head on the ground. For two years after that, she didn’t cry, she didn’t speak, she just kept looking into space.”
At the same time, the superstar realised he needed to take care of his sister and left no stone unturned to do so. He recounted, “During the making of Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, she was hospitalized again, and the doctors said she wouldn’t survive. I took her to Switzerland and got her treated there while I was shooting the famous song ‘Tujhe Dekha Toh Ye Jana Sanam.’ Then it got compounded with my mother passing away ten years later.”
Khan confessed he is blessed to have Shahnaz in his life, even kids love her the most.

SRK concluded by saying, “So, a part of me keeps on working round the clock, keeps on being happy despite the things that are said about me or they make a joke about things that I do but still keep doing them because if I do not, I think I would be in the same state of potassium deficiency and depression. So, to avoid depression , I act”, he quoted.
