Meet Rashi Bagga, who had rejected Rs 14 lakh job, then got hired for record-breaking package by…, studied from…, not IIT, IIM

For courses like BTech and MBA, most students prefer IITs and IIMs. Because it is believed that after passing out from these colleges, one gets a hefty salary package. But without studying from IIT or IIM, a student has secured a salary package of Rs 85 lakh. The name of this student is Rashi Bagga, who has been offered a job by a well-known company with a package of 85 lakh.

Interestingly, the same company had previously offered a Rs 57 lakh package to Chinky Karda, another IIIT-NR student, marking the highest placement in her batch in 2022. According to her LinkedIn profile, Rashi had earlier interned at Amazon as a software developer. Currently, Rashi is working as a Product Security Engineer at Atlassian.

Rashi has done B.Tech from International Institute of Information Technology, Naya Raipur, IIIT NR. According to a media report, Rashi was satisfied with the offers she got in the campus placement of the institute, but she decided to explore more and finally got success.

The report states that IIIT NR’s graduation batch recorded 100% placement for the fifth consecutive year. The same company that selected Rashi this year had offered a package of 57 lakhs to a student here last year as well. Which was the highest package of that batch. Another batchmate was offered a salary package of 56 lakhs. According to IIIT NR, the average CTC in placement this year was 16.5 lakhs.
