‘White powder on the table’: Vincy Aloshious calls out co-star’s drug use during film shoot

Vincy Aloshious recently made a bold statement at an anti-drug campaign – that she will not work with actors who, to her knowledge, use drugs. While the statement prompted cheers at the programme, social media was not too kind to her, mocking the actress.
Now, the 29-year-old has released a video on her Instagram, explaining the reason that led her to decide to make such a statement. Aloshious recalled an incident on a film set where her male co-star behaved inappropriately towards her. There seemed to be an issue with her costume, and on her way to get it fixed, the unnamed co-star offered to tag along and help fix her dress. “This was said in front of everyone, and it made the situation all the more uncomfortable," she said.
Keeping on subject of the same actor, she explained that during a scene rehearsal, the actor was seen spitting a sort of “white powder” on the table. The situation was evident, Aloshious commented and created a “nuisance” on set. “Using drugs in your personal life is one thing, but using it in a professional setting becomes a nuisance for everyone around. I am not interested in working with people who fall in that category.”
She further added that the director had a conversation with the actor about his unruly behaviour, just so they could wrap up the film. “When it became too uncomfortable for me, many came to my aid and comforted me. I only have a few days left on set, so I held on just to complete the shoot.”
Addressing the comments under posts about the statement made during the anti-drug campaign, Aloshious acknowledged the hate comments like, “Who do you think you are?”, “Are you such a big superstar to make decisions like this?”, “You don’t have any films!”
The actress cited an earlier interview with Cue Studio, where she admitted that lack of films coming her way. On this note, she said in the Instagram video, “I have the confidence to say that on camera, so I don’t have the insecurity to cover up my lack of films with this incident.”
Clapping back at haters questioning if she is a “superstar”, she stated, “If you’re a superstar or normal person, if a someone takes a stance on an issue, it is a stance, and that won’t change, no matter what the status.”
Many actors and social media influencers showed their support in the comments, including Sruthi Rajinikanth, Ashwin Jose, Sruthi Thampi and Sobha Viswanath.
