Maharashtra Govt Launches Month-Long Special Drive To Remove Illegal Hoardings
The Maharashtra government has informed the Bombay High Court that it has initiated a month-long special campaign aimed at removing illegal hoardings, banners, and flexes across the state. This drive has been launched in response to the High Court’s directions in a public interest litigation (PIL) that raised concerns over the growing issue of unauthorised hoardings.
The campaign was scheduled to be carried out between January 26 and February 26, 2025, with a focus on strict enforcement and compliance with the guidelines. As part of this initiative, all municipal corporations, municipal councils, and nagar panchayats have been directed to actively inspect and remove such illegal banners.
