'He Came With 10 People, Dragged & Abused Me': Mathura City Magistrate Caught On CCTV Assaulting PWD Employee (VIDEO)

Mathura: A video of a city magistrate allegedly manhandling a government employee has gone viral on social media, drawing widespread criticism from the netizens. The incident took place in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, where City Magistrate Rakesh Kumar was seen dragging and assaulting Gopal Prasad, a head assistant clerk in the PWD (Public Works Department) office.

According to a report by TV9, the incident unfolded after a verbal altercation between Gopal Prasad and a home guard stationed at the Collectorate NIC gate. The confrontation apparently escalated when the city magistrate arrived at the PWD office with his team.

Victim Alleged Assault, Staff Demands Apology

Prasad, the alleged victim, claimed that he was performing his official duties when he was forcibly dragged out of the office and beaten by the magistrate and his staff.

“I was working in my office. City Magistrate sahab came with 10 people and was dragging me, abusing me, beating me and taking me to his office, but all the colleagues of my department saved me,” Prasad told TV9, adding that the entire incident was captured on CCTV.

In protest, PWD employees shut down the office and staged a demonstration, demanding an apology from the city magistrate. The employees added that the office would remain closed until Kumar accepts his mistake and publicly issues an apology.

Magistrate Denies Allegations

As per the report, Kumar dismissed all the assault allegations. He stated that he was responding to a complaint filed by the home guard.

“The matter being told right now is wrong. A home guard is posted at my place and a PWD employee misbehaved with that home guard and beat him up,” Kumar told TV9.

“I went to the PWD office with him… to see whether the person who misbehaved with the home guard was a government employee or a private employee. That’s all the matter is, there is no case of assault," he further told the publication.
