Aamir Ali Recalls SHOCKING Incident Of Being Sexually Harassed In Train At 14: 'Started Holding Bag Closer To My Butt'
Television actor Aamir Ali, who has starred in several serials, including Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, Ek Hasina Thi, and FIR, among others, recently opened up about an unpleasant experience that he had encountered at the age of 14, where he was sexually harassed while travelling on a train. After the traumatising experience, he decided to never travel on a train.
While speaking to Hauterrfly, Aamir admitted to having reservations about his gay friends, stemming from an experience he had at the age of 14. He said, "When you are young and the first time I travelled in a train… The reason I stopped travelling in trains because I was being touched. I was 14. Then I started holding my bag closer to my backside near my butt. Then one day, someone stole books from my bag, and I was like 'Who steals books?' And I decided I won’t travel in a train."
Later, when the actor's friend 'confided' in him about their orientations, his perspective changed and he realised that he shouldn't be judgmental because of his past experience.
"Then, I had a couple of friends who came out and said that they have feelings for a man, and I know them so well. They are like my brothers. I can sleep with them on the same bed. And when they came out, then I felt like that just because of a couple of experiences, I can't judge the whole world. When you mature, you understand, your thoughts change," Aamir said.
Aamir, who was previously married to actress Sanjeeda Shaikh and got divorced in 2021, is currently dating model and actress Ankita Kukreti, four years after his separation.
Aamir married Sanjeeda in 2012 after years of dating and welcomed a daughter Ayra in 2018 via surrogacy.
However, he revealed that he has not been in touch with his daughter since the divorce.
