Bank System: It happens many times that a customer goes to the bank again and again for his work, but his words are not heard properly. Sometimes even some officers misbehave. If this happens to you, do not sit idle. RBI has given some rights to the bank customers. In such a situation, you can complain about this matter under the RBI Banking Ombudsman Scheme.

RBI Banking Ombudsman Scheme is a scheme formulated by the Reserve Bank of India, which provides a platform to the customers where they can complain about matters related to banks and NBFCs etc., bad behavior of bank officials etc. This scheme is operated to improve facilities for customers and bring transparency in banks. This complaint, which is made free of cost, is resolved within 30 days.

When can you complain

Under the Integrated Ombudsman Scheme, you can complain about any problem related to the bank only if you have previously complained in writing to the bank, NBFC etc. and that complaint has been rejected, no reply has been received within 30 days or a satisfactory reply has not been given. In case of no reply from the regulated entity, the customer can complain to the Ombudsman within 1 year and 30 days.

You can complain in three ways

  • To register an online complaint for any matter related to banks, you have to visit the website https://cms.rbi.org.in. On the website, you will get the option of File a Complaint, where you can complain about the matter.
  • If you want, you can also complain to the Centralized Receipt and Processing Center notified by RBI through mail. For this, you have to write your complaint and attach all the documents and send it to CRPC@rbi.org.in.
  • If you want to file a complaint in physical form, then the complainant or its authorized representative will have to sign the complaint, after which you can send the complaint along with all the necessary documents to the address given. The address is- Reserve Bank of India, 4th Floor, Sector 17, Chandigarh – 160017
