Chak De! India Actress Sagarika Ghatge, Former Team India Pacer Zaheer Khan Welcome Baby Boy - FIRST Photos Out
Actress Sagarika Ghatge, known for playing a key role in Shah Rukh Khan's Chak De! India, has welcomed her first child with former Team India cricketer Zaheer Khan. The couple shared the first photo of their bundle of joy on Instagram on Wednesday, announcing his birth.
The actress also revealed that they have named their first-born, Fatehsinh Khan. In the first photo, the new parents can be seen cradling their little one in their arms and posing for the perfect family portrait. In the second photo, the baby boy can be seen enjoying his sleep while holding on to his mommy and daddy.
"With love, gratitude and divine blessings we welcome our precious little baby boy, Fatehsinh Khan (sic)," Sagarika wrote.
Congratulatory wishes poured in for Sagarika and Zaheer as soon as they announced the news. Huma Qureshi, Angad Bedi, Karan Singh Grover, Neeru Bajwa, Diana Penty and many other celebs congratulated the couple and showered love on the newborn.
Cricketers like Akash Chopra, RP Singh, Suresh Raina, Harbhajan Singh, among others, expressed their joy on receiving the good news.
Sagarika and Zaheer named their baby boy Fatehsinh Khan as a tribute to both their roots. While the first name is a tribute to Sagarika's royal family roots and her father Vijaysinh Ghatge, the last name is in accordance to Zaheer's family name.
Sagarika and Zaheer took the nation by surprise when they announced their engagement on April 24, 2017. In the same year, they tied the knot in November, in a grand affair.
Sagarika marked her acting debut with Shah Rukh Khan's 2007 film, Chak De! India, in which she played the match-winning hockey player, Preeti Sabharwal. Interestingly, in the film too, she was shown to be dating a cricketer.
She later went on to star in films like Fox, Miley Naa Miley Hum, Rush, and the Marathi film, Premachi Goshta. In 2015, she was one of the finalists on the reality show, Khatron Ke Khiladi 9.
Zaheer, on the other hand, is a left-arm fast bowler, and he was a part of Team India from 2000 to 2014. He had been a part of some of the most crucial matches of Team India, including the 2011 World Cup.
At present, he is the mentor of the IPL team, Lucknow Super Giants.
