Wish to find the nearest clinic, “Google it”. Looking for best cafes near your location, “Google: Best Cafes Near Me”. This is how dependent we are on Google. The search engine has custom features that helps its users to overly customise and localise their search pertaining to their geographical setting. In order to keep enhancing, these browsers and search engines keep on updating their rules. In a latest announcement, the tech giant stated that they company is set to bring in new rules in terms of search domain.

In 2017, Google began with its localise search option. With the help of country code top-level domain names (ccTLD), such as google.ng for Nigeria or google.com.br for Brazil, the user interface became more friendly. However, they are now set to make some tweaks to it. Will that affect our ‘surfing the net’? What changes will it entail of Indian users?

How Google’s New Change Will Affect Users?

In a latest blog post Google stated that these country-level domains are no longer really necessary and hence will begin to redirect all searches to Google.com instead of particular country code domain like Google.in (India). “So we’ll begin redirecting traffic from these ccTLDs to google.com to streamline people’s experience on Search,” the post stated.

However, it won’t significantly affect user search or the ways they used to type their search. The statement further read, “It’s important to note that while this update will change what people see in their browser address bar, it won’t affect the way Search works, nor will it change how we handle obligations under national laws.”

When Will Google Search Changes Come in Effect?

These changes will be rolled out the down a few months. As per the statement, users might have to re-enter some of the search preference but it won’t significantly affect or disrupt your search.

This announcement was published on April 15 on their official blog post site.
