Lakshmi Vilas Palace Has 170 Rooms

With a structure being this huge, the palace has 170 rooms, a very beautiful garden, a stable, a swimming pool, and a private golf course.

Lakshmi Vilas Palace was built by Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III in 1890 for Rs 27 lakh. This house was built under the supervision of British architect Major Charles Mant. Today, the cost of the property is reported to be around Rs 25,000 crore, surpassing Mukesh Ambani’s Antilia.

Coming to Maharani Radhikaraje Gaekwad, she belongs to the Wankaner Royal family, located in the Morbi district of Gujarat, when it was a princely state of the Jhala dynasty. Maharani Radhikaraje Gaekwad’s father is Dr. MK Ranjitsinh Jhala, who gave up his royal title for UPSC and later became an IAS officer.

According to reports, Maharani Radhikaraje completed her graduation in BA and has worked with esteemed newspaper organisation, The Indian Express.

Today, Maharani Radhikaraje’s home is also a famous tourist spot as people come to observe the rich heritage and culture of Gujarat. The palace is open from Tuesday to Sunday between 10:30 am to 5:30 pm with an entry fee of Rs 200.
