24th Jammu District Sport Climbing Competition on Apr 26

JAMMU, Apr 15: The Mountaineering Association of J&K will organize the 24th Jammu District Sport Climbing Competition on April 26 at Sprawling Buds ICSE School, Bantalab. Organized by the District Sport Climbing Association, Jammu, the event is sponsored by J&K Sports Council.
According to a handout issued by the organizers, around 300 climbers from across Jammu district are expected to participate. The competition may extend to the next day if it is not completed on the first day.
Events will be held on the 40-ft-high Tenzing Norgay Sport Climbing Wall across eight categories, from Mini Boys and Girls (born in 2014 and later) to Men and Women (born in 2008 or earlier), with competitions conducted in lead climbing only. Speed climbing demonstrations by international climbers will take place during the inauguration.
Shawetica Khajuria, an international judge, will preside over the jury, while Sonam Sidharth will serve as the Organizing Secretary. Technical support will be provided by the Indian Mountaineering Foundation, North Zone Committee. Interested participants must register by April 23, or opt for on-the-spot registration from 8 am to 8:30 am on April 26.
