Another US carrier in W Asian waters ahead of Iran talks

A second US aircraft carrier is operating in West Asian waters ahead of the next round of talks between Iran and the US over Tehran’s rapidly advancing nuclear programme, satellite photos analysed on Tuesday showed.

This is linked to the US’ month-long campaign against the Houthis as a means to pressure Iran in the negotiations.

Meanwhile, Iran insisted early on Tuesday they would return to Oman and not go to Rome for talks. American officials so far haven’t said where the talks will be held.
